CATALOGUE · in production

Take a look at what we’ve been producing.

A preview: you’re reading V.001 — the full catalogue arrives with V.002. Below, a glimpse of the slate. New works announced staggered, when it’s their time in the sun.

ON THE SLATE · the first accessions

01

Indigenous robots v Silicon Valley robots — an animated series on politics and law in future deep time

02

Staged guerrilla detonations in the City of London

03

An exhibit of fifty-two different designs of goo and the metaphors they stand for

04

An anthology of genre-craft and worldbuilding — the Knowledge Design Lab, made public

05

A piece of creative tech we call the Alt-CINDEX, which measures the life and soul of an idea, rather than its metric impact

These are some of the first accessions — the rest arrive in staggered drops, announced as each is ready.

THE UNCOMMON FUTURE PLAYER · arrives in V.002

The moving-image works get a theatre of their own.

The catalogue’s films and series need a home that isn’t a page. We’re building it. Behind this text is the working sketch — it switches on with the first releases.

ACCESSION · the catalogue grows in public

How this room fills.

FROM THE PORTALS

Selected submissions

THE RATIONALE · IN PUBLIC

Why do we launch staggered?

So the alternative doesn’t remain artificial.

The doctrine calls the journal article a form inherited from the vision of salesmen, not intellectuals. It wasn’t designed in the real sense; it was arrived at by contingency. A catalogue that arrived complete on launch day would repeat the mistake: one more top-down decree about what the alternative looks like. So this one grows in public, accession by accession, through the portals and the Lab. That is what staggered launching is for.
